இந்தியாவின் பிரபலமான பாடகிகளில் ஒருவர் லதா மங்கேஷ்கர். லதா ஜி என அழைக்கப்படும் இவருக்கு உலகம் முழுவதும் ரசிகர்கள் இருக்கின்றனர். இவர் தமிழில் வலையோசை கலகலவென உள்ளிட்ட பாடல்களை பாடியிருக்கிறார்.

மும்பையில் வசித்து வந்த அவருக்கு கடந்த மாதம் கொரோனா தொற்று உறுதி செய்யப்பட்ட நிலையில் மும்பையில் உள்ள ப்ரீச் கேண்டி தனியார் மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சைக்காக அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டார். தொடர்ந்து அவருக்கு சிகிச்சை அளிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி இன்று காலமானார். அவருக்கு வயது 92. பாடகி லதாவின் மறைவுக்கு பல்வேறு தரப்பினரும் இரங்கல் தெரிவித்து வருகின்றனர்.
